Udaipur: Under the Rajasthan Government’s Panch Gaurav Scheme, a 15-day swimming training camp is being conducted at Maharana Pratap Khelgaon for players selected through block-level talent search initiatives led by the District Collector. On the fourth day of the camp, participants were enriched with both technical skills and theoretical knowledge.
District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal stated that trainers Ranveer Singh Ranawat, Sandeep Soni, Dharmveer Singh Ranawat, Anil Kumawat, Sunil Kumawat, and Sunil Nakwal provided systematic training in freestyle techniques, including arm action, kicking, breathing, floating, and start techniques. During the sessions, individual errors of each swimmer were closely observed, and corrective guidance was given, leading to noticeable improvement in their technical performance.
As part of the camp, a theoretical session was also conducted, where Ranveer Singh Ranawat explained the structure, rules, and competitive levels of various swimming competitions. Participants were also informed about career opportunities in swimming, future prospects through sports, and various government schemes and scholarships available for athletes in Rajasthan.
The objective of the training camp is not only to enhance swimming skills but also to provide athletes with a long-term vision toward sports. The participants have shown consistent enthusiasm and discipline, reflecting the success of the initiative.
Notably, under the Panch Gaurav program, swimming is being developed as a priority sport in Udaipur district, aiming to nurture local talent and prepare athletes for excellence at state and national levels.
