Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar Visits Udaipur

Udaipur — The state’s Education and Panchayati Raj Minister, Madan Dilawar, was on a visit to Udaipur on Tuesday. During his visit, he inaugurated newly constructed buildings of government schools, along with computer labs and other facilities, built by the IIFL Foundation in the gram panchayats of Wati, Badgaon, and Bedla under the Badgaon Panchayat Samiti.

Addressing a समारोह held in Wati, Minister Dilawar appreciated the organization for its high-quality work and noted that the local school’s board examination results had also been commendable. He felicitated meritorious students who performed exceptionally well in Class 10 and 12 board examinations.

Encouraging students, he urged them to draw inspiration from the great personalities of the Mewar region and move forward in life. He emphasized that the government is committed to providing quality education enriched with moral values. To achieve this, regular workshops and seminars are being organized for capacity building of teachers.

He highlighted that values are not gained through education alone but are also shaped by the surrounding environment. Teachers must be mindful, as children learn from their every action and behavior.

The minister stated that the Education Department is continuously working in the right direction, and Rajasthan has improved its ranking in education from 14th to 4th position in the country. For the first time, board exam results have been declared in March itself, and in the new academic session, all students will receive textbooks on time—an important achievement.

He appealed to teachers to motivate parents to enroll their children in government schools, ensuring that no child remains deprived of education. He also said that government schools are now providing education comparable to private institutions, without the need for entrance interviews, and are focused on developing well-cultured and responsible citizens.

Madan Dilawar expressed the goal of securing the top position in the next national education survey and warned that action may be taken against teachers with poor performance. He noted that the new National Education Policy, introduced under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is employment-oriented and includes vocational education from an early stage.

He further mentioned that cleanliness in rural school premises will be ensured through the Panchayati Raj Department. Steps are being taken to eliminate possibilities of paper leaks. With support from the central and state governments, dilapidated school buildings are being demolished and replaced with new infrastructure at a rapid pace.

He instructed officials to immediately deploy teachers currently on deputation back to teaching duties and to expedite the promotion process, including promotions for third-grade teachers. He also emphasized regular cleanliness drives in villages and warned of action against those failing to comply with directives.

Additionally, he announced plans to issue land leases for temples in village residential areas, install street lights, discourage the use of polythene, and promote cow protection.

At a separate event held in Bedla, the minister honored the mothers of martyrs, including Shaurya Chakra awardee Major Mustafa and Prakash Khatik, by touching their feet and seeking their blessings.

On this occasion, Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, former Deputy District Head Pushkar Teli, social worker Gajpal Singh, IIFL representatives Nirmal Jain and Madhu Jain, along with officials from the Education Department and other departments, and local जनप्रतिनिधि (public representatives), were present.
