Udaipur: As part of the observance of World Environment Day 2026, a “Run for Environment” was organized on Thursday under the joint aegis of the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board and the District Environment Committee. Held under this year’s global theme, “Inspired by Nature, For the Climate, For Our Future,” the event witnessed the participation of nearly 2,000 people, spreading the message of environmental conservation and sustainability.
The run commenced from Vindhyam Grand Hotel, where District Collector Gaurav Agrawal flagged off the event. Participants included representatives from industrial units, social organizations, schools, colleges, and other educational institutions. Demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment, participants conveyed the importance of environmental protection and climate change awareness through their active involvement.
Regional Officer of the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, Sharad Saxena, informed that an exhibition on environmental conservation and sustainable development was also organized alongside the event. The exhibition featured innovative and eco-friendly initiatives, including:

The primary objective of the program was to raise public awareness about environmental protection, climate change, and the adoption of a lifestyle that is in harmony with nature. The large-scale participation reflected the growing awareness and commitment of society toward environmental conservation and sustainable development.
