69th Academic Council Meeting of MPUAT Concludes

Udaipur: The 69th Academic Council Meeting of the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Pratap Singh. The meeting witnessed detailed deliberations on various academic and administrative matters, and several important proposals were approved.

At the outset, Registrar Ashok Kumar presented the minutes and compliance report of the 68th Academic Council Meeting for approval. The Council resolved that there would be no increase in student fees during the current academic session. It also approved the renaming of the New Auditorium located on the Rajasthan College of Agriculture (RCA) campus as the “Maharana Pratap Auditorium.”

The Council further decided to conduct special examinations for students who were unable to appear in regular examinations due to their participation in national-level NCC parades, sports competitions, or cultural events. In addition, discussions were held regarding the functioning of the office of the Director, Human Resource and Development for the training and capacity building of academic and non-academic staff members of the university.

The Academic Council approved the implementation of the recommendations of the Sixth Deans’ Committee of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in the B.Tech. programme. Considering the availability of faculty members, it also agreed to make necessary revisions in the intake capacity of certain postgraduate and Ph.D. programmes. Furthermore, the Council approved required academic modifications in the undergraduate B.Tech. curriculum.

Several other academic matters concerning the university were also discussed during the meeting.

Among those present were Council members Dr. R.L. Soni, Dr. Manoj Kumar Mahla, Dr. R.P. Meena, Dr. Ramhari Meena, Dr. Lokesh Gupta, Ms. Darshana Gupta, and Dr. N.L. Panwar, along with Deans and Principals of various constituent colleges of the university.

The meeting was also attended by nominated member Dr. Chandeshwar Tiwari, Professor and former Director of Extension Education, as well as eminent agricultural educationist Dr. O.P. Sharma, Professor at the Rajasthan Agricultural Research Institute, Durgapura, Jaipur. Representatives from the VCSG Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry, Bharsar, Uttarakhand, were also present.
