Udaipur, Dr. S.K. Verma, a distinguished name in the field of medical science and research, has been conferred with the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award – Medical Research” by the TIME2LEAP National Awards (4th Edition, 2025). The award ceremony took place during the MSME Start-Up Innovation Summit held on 22nd May 2025 at Hotel Vivanta, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The award was presented by Smt. Pravati Parida, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, and Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Balasore and Former Union Minister for MSME, Government of India.
Dr. Verma currently serves as President of the Society for Microvita Research and Integrated Medicine (SMRIM), Udaipur, and holds the distinguished title of Professor Emeritus, Department of Medicine, at Pacific Medical College & Hospital, Udaipur.
The award, comprising a trophy and a certificate of excellence, recognizes Dr. Verma's lifelong dedication and extraordinary contributions to medical research. His academic footprint includes 142 research publications in reputed national and international journals, with over 3,500 citations and an impressive h-index of 27, reflecting the widespread impact and relevance of his work in the global scientific community.
With a research career spanning more than 45 years, Dr. Verma has primarily focused on the role of spices and medicinal plants in the risk stratification and prevention of cardiovascular diseases, a pioneering area that combines traditional knowledge with modern clinical science. His work has contributed significantly to advancing the understanding of natural compounds in disease modulation and preventive healthcare.
In recent years, Dr. Verma has expanded his scientific pursuits into the field of Microvitology and Integrated Medicine—a transdisciplinary approach aimed at holistic human wellness.
