*Udaipur, World Heart Day is celebrated worldwide on September 29th, and this year's theme was "Use Heart, Know Heart." The day is observed to raise awareness about various preventive measures and lifestyle changes to avoid heart disease. In line with this, Paras Health, Udaipur organized a mega walkathon event to promote awareness.
The event was inaugurated by Arjun Lal Meena, the current Member of Parliament from Udaipur, who raised the green flag to mark the beginning of the walkathon. The walkathon commenced from the Fatehsagar Aquarium Gate in Udaipur at 6:30 AM and concluded at the same location via the PPSC Marg. This walkathon aimed to take a step towards better heart health and saw the participation of over a thousand individuals.
During the walkathon, doctors from the Cardiac Sciences department of Paras Health, Udaipur, educated participants about maintaining a healthy heart. Participants were provided with t-shirts, caps, certificates of participation, and refreshments. The primary goal of Paras Health, Udaipur's initiative was to emphasize the importance of consulting a doctor rather than self-diagnosing any heart-related condition, which can be more beneficial.
Every year, more than 17 million people die from heart-related diseases, surpassing the mortality rates from HIV, malaria, and cancer. The objective of World Heart Day is to draw attention towards what can genuinely prevent people from falling victim to heart diseases and raise public awareness about dealing with potential risks associated with these diseases, including an unbalanced diet.
Paras Health's initiative in Udaipur contributed to spreading awareness about the significance of heart health, ultimately encouraging individuals to take steps to prevent heart-related illnesses and highlighting the importance of consulting healthcare professionals for accurate advice.
