Sri Ganganagar: Under the directions of Ravindra Kumar (District and Sessions Judge), Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Sri Ganganagar, and as per the guidelines of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, Jaipur, a legal awareness camp was organized on Friday at the State Bank of India Regional Business Office, Sri Ganganagar. The camp aimed to create awareness among female employees about the POSH Act, 2013.
During the session, Ravi Prakash Suthar (Additional District and Sessions Judge), Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, addressed the women employees and explained that the POSH Act (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) 2013—The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act—is an important Indian law designed to ensure a safe working environment for women.
He informed participants that the Act makes it mandatory for every organization with 10 or more employees to constitute an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). The law provides clear procedures, based on directions of the Supreme Court of India, for filing complaints, conducting inquiries, and taking action. The primary objective of the Act is to prevent sexual harassment at the workplace and provide mechanisms for redressal of related complaints.
He further explained that the Act applies to government, private, and non-government organizations, as well as unorganized sectors and small establishments. Complaints must generally be filed within three months of the incident.
During the camp, ADJ Ravi Prakash Suthar also provided information about free legal aid services, the Hit and Run Compensation Scheme, the e-Samadhan portal, NALSA helpline number 15100, and the functioning of the Legal Aid Defense Counsel System (LADCS).
He also requested the bank’s Assistant General Manager to cooperate in resolving a large number of bank-related compromise cases during the National Lok Adalat scheduled for March 14, 2026.
