Sri Ganganagar: Under the ongoing “Drug-Free Sri Ganganagar” campaign led by District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav and Superintendent of Police Harishankar, an awareness workshop against drug abuse was organized at the Senior Secondary School in Daniramwala. Students participated enthusiastically in the program.
The main objective of the workshop was to make young people aware of the harmful effects of substance abuse. Vikram Gyani from the Social Justice and Empowerment Department addressed the students, stating that addiction does not affect just an individual but destroys entire families and society. He explained that addiction is a trap in which a person can lose their identity, dreams, and relationships.
He emphasized that the fight against addiction is not only external but also internal. True victory begins when one firmly decides to stay away from such harmful habits. He encouraged students to remain aware, stating that a जागरूक youth leads to a safer society, and that they must choose between their dreams and addiction.
During the workshop, several emotional examples were shared to illustrate how addiction can turn a happy life into devastation. Students were also made aware of cyber safety and traffic rules.
Information was provided about the Government of India’s MANAS helpline (1933), explaining how individuals can seek help and register complaints. Students also shared their views on the topic and pledged to stay away from drugs.
At the end of the workshop, all students collectively took an oath to remain drug-free and to spread awareness among their families and society.
