Sri Ganganagar: Under the ongoing Drug-Free Sri Ganganagar Campaign led by District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav and Superintendent of Police Harishankar, an awareness workshop was organized at Government Senior Secondary School, Chak Maharajka.
A large number of students, teachers, and rural youth participated in the program. During the workshop, participants were educated about the harmful effects of drug abuse, its psychological impact, and its severe consequences on families and society.
Social Justice and Empowerment Department representative Vikram Jiyani addressed the gathering and said that mistakes made due to drug addiction can break a person from within. He emphasized that drugs not only destroy an individual but also hurt the dreams and dignity of their parents.
He encouraged the youth, stating that life is full of challenges, but circumstances do not determine success. The real strength lies in one’s mindset. Even if situations are unfavorable, a strong mind, positive thinking, and passion for dreams can overcome any difficulty.
Through emotional examples, students were explained how drug addiction slowly destroys dreams, confidence, and family happiness. It was highlighted that addiction often begins as fun, curiosity, or peer pressure but eventually becomes a life-destroying compulsion.
Students were urged to set life goals and never forget the struggles of their parents. During the program, they took a pledge to stay away from drugs and to spread awareness among others.
Participants were also made aware of cyber safety and traffic rules. Information about the Government of India’s MANAS Helpline 1933 was shared, explaining how individuals can seek help and report drug-related issues.
