Dr Ashish Jakhetia Elected Director Education (West Zone) of Association of Breast Surgeons of India

Udaipur: Dr Ashish Jakhetia of Geetanjali Medical College & Hospital, Udaipur, has been elected as Director Education (West Zone), India, of the Association of Breast Surgeons of India (ABSI) for the 2026–2028 term.

The prestigious national responsibility recognises Dr Jakhetia’s significant contribution to the fields of breast cancer surgery, medical education, training and research. In his new role, he will play an important part in strengthening academic programmes, training initiatives, professional collaboration and evidence-based breast cancer treatment across western India.

The management and medical faculty of Geetanjali Medical College & Hospital congratulated Dr Jakhetia on the achievement and wished him a successful and impactful tenure. They said the recognition is a matter of pride for the entire Geetanjali family and will further enhance the institution’s reputation on national and international academic platforms.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women, highlighting the need for greater awareness, timely screening, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment, particularly across Rajasthan and western India. Dr Jakhetia’s new academic role is expected to contribute to improved breast cancer awareness, medical training and patient care in the region.

Expressing gratitude for the responsibility, Dr Jakhetia said he is committed to making meaningful contributions to education, research, training and public awareness through the association. He said his focus will be on further improving the standards of breast cancer treatment and professional training in western India, while strengthening Geetanjali Medical College & Hospital’s presence on national and international academic platforms.

The management, doctors, faculty members and staff of the institution extended their congratulations to Dr Jakhetia and wished him a successful tenure.
