Honouring Teachers and Celebrating Excellence: Mewar Branch of Bharatiya Vikas Parishad Hosts Inspiring Programme

Udaipur: Reinforcing the rich Indian tradition of honouring teachers and encouraging academic excellence, the Mewar Branch of Bharatiya Vikas Parishad organised a Guru Vandan–Chhatra Abhinandan programme at Gurukul Senior Secondary School, Sector-14. Held under the Parishad's Sanskar initiative, the event aimed to foster respect, gratitude, and Indian cultural values among the younger generation while inspiring them to contribute to nation-building. As part of the programme, five outstanding students of the school were felicitated with ceremonial shawls (uparanas), mementoes, and certificates of appreciation in recognition of their exemplary academic performance. In a touching tribute to the timeless Guru-Shishya (teacher-disciple) tradition, the honoured students, in turn, draped ceremonial shawls over their teachers as a mark of respect and gratitude. The heartfelt gesture added a special sense of dignity and warmth to the event. The Parishad also honoured the teachers with mementoes and certificates in recognition of their dedicated service. The programme was attended by Dr. Jayaraj Acharya, National Co-Coordinator (Service Activities), senior member Harishankar Tiwari, Mewar Branch President Dr. Narendra Singh Sisodia, Service Convenor Shriratna Mohata, Sanskar Convenor Dr. Yogesh Gyani, and Secretary Advocate Sanjay Mehta. The dignitaries expressed their appreciation to the school's Principal, Chandraprakash Singhvi, for the successful organisation of the event. Addressing the gathering, the speakers observed that programmes such as Guru Vandan–Chhatra Abhinandan are much more than felicitation ceremonies. They serve as powerful platforms for nurturing discipline, gratitude, respect for teachers, strong moral values, and patriotism among students. The Bharatiya Vikas Parishad reaffirmed its commitment to organising more value-based initiatives in the future to further strengthen Indian culture and preserve the enduring Guru-Shishya tradition.
