Road Construction Projects Worth ₹79.58 Crore Approved for Udaipur District

Udaipur: In line with Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma's commitment to good governance and the development of a safe and robust road infrastructure across Rajasthan, the State Government has approved the construction of Missing Link and Non-Patchable Road projects under the Budget 2026–27.

Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Diya Kumari stated that connecting every village, town, and city with a high-quality road network remains one of the government's highest priorities. As part of this initiative, Udaipur district has been sanctioned 151 road construction and strengthening projects at a total cost of ₹79.58 crore. These works will develop and upgrade 247.94 kilometres of road network, significantly improving connectivity across both rural and urban areas.

The approved projects include 68 Missing Link roads and 83 Non-Patchable road reconstruction works. The Missing Link projects will bridge long-pending gaps in road connectivity, while the reconstruction of deteriorated and non-patchable roads will ensure safer, smoother, and more convenient transportation. The improved road infrastructure is also expected to boost access to education, healthcare, agriculture, tourism, and commercial activities throughout the district.

Assembly Constituency-wise Approvals

According to Abhinandan Kumar Jain and Achal Gupta, Superintending Engineers of the Public Works Department, the projects have been distributed across all seven Assembly constituencies of Udaipur district.

In the Udaipur City Assembly Constituency, 42 road projects have been approved, including 28 Missing Link and 14 Non-Patchable roads. The projects involve an investment of ₹11.49 crore and will strengthen 17.66 kilometres of road network.

The Udaipur Rural Assembly Constituency has received approval for 16 projects, comprising 3 Missing Link and 13 Non-Patchable roads. These works, estimated at ₹12.04 crore, will improve 35.50 kilometres of roads.

In the Jhadol Assembly Constituency, 21 road projects have been sanctioned, including 4 Missing Link and 17 Non-Patchable roads. A total of 47.63 kilometres of road network will be constructed and upgraded at a cost of ₹11.96 crore.

The Kherwara Assembly Constituency has been allotted 14 projects, consisting of 5 Missing Link and 9 Non-Patchable roads. An investment of ₹10.08 crore will be made to develop 38.25 kilometres of road network.

The Vallabhnagar Assembly Constituency has received 23 road projects, including 8 Missing Link and 15 Non-Patchable roads. These projects, valued at ₹11.95 crore, will strengthen 40.70 kilometres of roads.

In the Mavli Assembly Constituency, 17 projects have been approved, comprising 8 Missing Link and 9 Non-Patchable roads. An expenditure of ₹10.09 crore will be incurred to construct and upgrade 27.75 kilometres of road network.

The Gogunda Assembly Constituency has been sanctioned 18 road projects, including 4 Missing Link and 14 Non-Patchable roads. These works will develop 40.45 kilometres of road infrastructure at a cost of ₹11.97 crore.

The comprehensive road development initiative is expected to significantly enhance regional connectivity, improve transportation safety, and support the socio-economic development of Udaipur district by facilitating better access to essential services and economic opportunities.
