District Legal Services Secretary Conducts Surprise Inspection of District Jail

Bhilwara: Following the directives of the State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority Chairman, Mr. Ajay Sharma, District Legal Services Secretary Mr. Rajpal Singh conducted an unannounced inspection of the district jail on Friday.

During the inspection, Secretary Singh gathered information about the health and other medical facilities provided to the prisoners. He obtained details from Jail Superintendent Bhairu Singh Rathore and inspected the kitchen facilities within the prison premises, ensuring the quality of meals served to the inmates.

Secretary Singh inquired about the concerns of the inmates and advised them to apply for free legal assistance in case they do not have a defense attorney. He also interacted with the undertrials and informed them about the option of appealing to the High Court through the services of a free legal counsel.

The Secretary conducted an inspection of the women's barracks, taking note of the facilities available for female inmates. Jailor Mukesh Jarotia, Jailor Naval Kishor Sharma, and other officials were present during the inspection.

The surprise visit aimed to ensure the well-being of inmates, the quality of legal assistance provided, and the overall conditions within the district jail. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to uphold the rights and dignity of prisoners.
