"I Want to Illuminate the Name of Jharkhand": Emerging Actress Ruchi Kajal

Every individual dreams of achieving name and fame, but fulfilling this aspiration, especially in the film industry, is rare. However, with dedication and hard work, coupled with a stroke of destiny, success becomes attainable. Something similar happened with emerging actress Ruchi Kajal. Renowned filmmaker Anand Rout provided Ruchi Kajal with an opportunity to showcase her talent in his comedy film "Welcome Wedding." The film was released on March 29th and has been performing well. Ruchi Kajal, a resident of Petarwar in Bokaro district, Jharkhand, lent her melodious voice and acting skills to a club song in this film. As part of the promotional activities for "Welcome Wedding," actress Ruchi Kajal visited Sujata Multiplex (Ranchi), where she interacted with directors. I had the opportunity to interview her during this event. Here are some excerpts from the conversation:

**How was your experience working in the comedy film "Welcome Wedding"?**
- "I was a little nervous when facing the camera for the first time. I would like to express my gratitude to director Anand Rout. He gave me an opportunity in his film... With his support and guidance, I was able to shoot. Working in this film has boosted my morale... I now feel quite free. The fear I had of the camera has completely disappeared."

**What does the fear of the camera imply?**
- "Yes... I used to think that I wouldn't be able to work properly compared to other people... There were many renowned Bollywood artists in the film... So, I was scared... But everyone in the unit cooperated so much during the shoot that all fear vanished from my heart."

**What kind of roles would you like to play in the future?**
- "I don't want to be typecast... I want to play all kinds of roles."

**Can you tell us something about where you are from... I mean where you originally belong... Would you like to share something about that place?**
- "I am originally from Petarwar, Bokaro district (Jharkhand). I completed my M.A. (English) studies in Ranchi and also completed a teacher training course. Currently, I am involved in the field of education. Since childhood, I had an interest in singing and acting, so I decided to embark on the journey to Mumbai. I am quite influenced by the singing of Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Palak Muchhal. I want to establish myself in both singing and acting... The special reason for me to focus on films is that I want to illuminate the name of Jharkhand with my talent."

**Can you tell us something about the film "Welcome Wedding"?**
- "In this film, I have sung and acted as well. I will be seen in a club song. My character in the film contributes to the storyline. Along with being a comedy film, 'Welcome Wedding' is also social and message-oriented. This film has all the elements of entertainment. I have high hopes from this film."

**Which other artists have worked with you in this film?**
- "Apart from me, notable artists like Darshan Jariwala, Rakhi Sawant, Rajpal Yadav, Arun Bakshi, Firdosh, Raju Kher, Sahil Kohli, Komal Jha, Anong Singha, Riyaana, Rajesh Shukla, Rajesh Singh, Dr. Rohit Raj, Prakash Nayak, Milind Prasad, and Kisan Bhan have also worked in this film. A. Rout also appears as a guest artist."

**After this film, which other films are you working on?**
- "I have already signed up for the film 'PiHu' and another untitled film. The announcement of the title will be made very soon. The shooting for 'PiHu' is about to start soon."
