Udaipur: Dr. L.S. Jhala, the Medical Director of Alakh Nayan Mandir, will be heading to Vancouver, Canada, on August 8 to participate in the World Ophthalmology Conference, scheduled from August 15 to 19. Dr. Jhala will represent Rajasthan at this prestigious conference.
Director Lakshmi Jhala stated that Dr. Jhala will present a research paper at the conference, highlighting the work being done in South Rajasthan to combat blindness, the surgical interventions being implemented, and the latest developments and research in this field. Dr. Jhala mentioned that around 8,000 to 10,000 ophthalmologists from around the world will gather to discuss innovations and new research in eye diseases, with a particular focus on blindness.
The conference will also cover discussions on machines used in cataract surgeries and research on eliminating complications related to eye diseases.
Operation Eyesight Collaboration: Lakshmi Jhala will discuss with Operation Eyesight, a Canadian NGO working towards the eradication of blindness worldwide, about the collaboration with Alakh Nayan Mandir. This includes the establishment of 12 eye centers in villages across every tehsil in South Rajasthan and providing more assistance to expedite the complete eradication of blindness in the region.
