Udaipur . On the eve of Diwali and the occasion of Dhanteras, District Collector Arvind Poswal, accompanied by a team of officials, conducted a tour of the city on Tuesday evening. During the visit, he reviewed the attractive decorations, traffic arrangements, and other important preparations for the festival, extending heartfelt wishes for prosperity and joy to the residents of Udaipur.
Collector Poswal embarked on a walking tour to observe the city illuminated for the festivities. He walked from Delhi Gate through Ashwini Bazaar, visiting Ghantaghar, Jagdish Chowk, Mahalaxmi Temple, and concluding at Gulab Bagh. He was accompanied by ADM Administration Deependra Singh Rathore, UDA Special Officer Jitendra Ojha, Smart City Executive Engineer Dinesh Tripathi, Municipal Corporation SE Mukesh Pujari, and other officials. The collector also assessed the electrical decorations and traffic management along the route.
At various points, members of trade organizations welcomed the Collector and officials by draping them with traditional shawls. The District Collector and his team offered prayers at Mahalaxmi Temple and Lakshminarayan Temple for the well-being of Udaipur's residents.
The tour continued through Surajpol, Delhi Gate, and Bapu Bazaar to Chetak Circle, where he observed the decorations and welcome arches. He also inspected Sukhadia Circle, Fatehpura Chowk, and commended the attractive decorations and lighting arranged by the district administration to enhance the beauty of the lake city.
**Heritage Exploration and Architectural Insights**
At Jagdish Chowk, the Collector examined ancient buildings and expressed admiration for the jharokhas (overhanging enclosed balconies) and windows. He entered some of the old houses to appreciate their architectural features.
**Traffic Management Directives**
Upon noticing the crowd at Hathipol, Jagdish Chowk, and Mahalaxmi Temple, the District Collector instructed police officials to ensure proper traffic management.
**Cultural Performances Enhance Festive Spirit**
In celebration of Diwali, a vibrant cultural program was organized by the district administration at Sukhadia Circle. Local artists and youth presented captivating performances. The event, conducted in collaboration with the tourism department, saw the attendance of District Collector Arvind Poswal, who encouraged the performers and youth. He mentioned that this small initiative was aimed at amplifying the festive spirit of the celebrations.
