District Collector Mehta Inspects Udiapol Central Jail

Udaipur: District Collector Namit Mehta, known for his effective administrative leadership, conducted an inspection of Udiapol Central Jail on Tuesday. During his visit, he was greeted with a Guard of Honor by the jail personnel. Jail Superintendent Rajpal Singh welcomed Mehta and provided an overview of the jail's general operations.

**Tasted Food, Expressed Satisfaction with Quality**  
Collector Mehta first visited the jail's kitchen, where he was pleased with the cleanliness and maintenance. He instructed the jail superintendent to maintain these standards. Mehta also tasted the food prepared for the prisoners and expressed satisfaction with its taste and quality. He further inquired about the jail's challani guard system and video conferencing facilities.

**Encouraged Prisoners to Focus on Reform**  
Mehta also visited the barracks and interacted with the prisoners, encouraging them to focus on self-reformation. He assured them that everyone has room for improvement and emphasized the importance of creating a healthy environment in the jail for rehabilitation. He also encouraged prisoners to engage in educational activities, asking the jail superintendent to organize periodic sports events.

**Inspiring through Hobby Classes and Music**  
While visiting the jail's hobby room, Mehta enjoyed a performance by the orchestra band and motivated the participants. He also suggested that the library should be stocked with general books and other resources for the prisoners. Mehta encouraged the prisoners to join hobby classes and skill development programs, as demonstrated by the dance group and orchestra performances.

**Checked Dispensary, Ensured Medical Care**  
During his inspection, Mehta visited the jail’s dispensary where he interacted with the inmates receiving medical care. He spoke to the attending doctors to understand the medical facilities available and suggested organizing medical camps as needed. Mehta also inquired about vacant positions and pending pension matters, providing necessary instructions to the jail superintendent.
