Shri Ganganagar: In a landmark move to promote the birth of girls and support their overall development from birth to adulthood, the state government, led by Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, has launched the "Lado Incentive Scheme." This initiative is designed to foster a positive attitude towards the birth of a girl child, enhance their health and education, and ensure their holistic development across the state. As part of this innovative scheme, parents will receive a commitment of ₹1 lakh from the state government upon the birth of a girl child.
Assistant Director of the Women's Empowerment Department, Mr. Vijay Kumar, stated that the Lado Incentive Scheme was initiated to bring joy to parents during the birth of a girl child and secure her bright future.
### ₹1 Lakh to Be Disbursed in 7 Installments
Under this scheme, the state government will disburse a total of ₹1 lakh in seven installments through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) from the birth of the girl until she reaches the age of 21. The first six installments will be transferred to the bank account of the girl's parents or guardians, while the seventh installment will be deposited directly into the girl's bank account. The Rajshree Scheme has been merged with the Lado Incentive Scheme.
The installments are as follows:
1. First installment of ₹2,500 at the birth of the girl child in an authorized medical institution.
2. Second installment of ₹2,500 when the child turns one year old and has received all vaccinations.
3. Third installment of ₹4,000 upon admission to the first grade in a government or recognized private school.
4. Fourth installment of ₹5,000 upon admission to the sixth grade.
5. Fifth installment of ₹11,000 upon admission to the tenth grade.
6. Sixth installment of ₹25,000 upon admission to the twelfth grade.
7. Seventh installment of ₹50,000 upon completing graduation from a recognized institution and turning 21 years old.
### Eligibility and Process of the Lado Incentive Scheme
The girl child must be born in a government medical institution or a private institution recognized under the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY). The mother must be a resident of Rajasthan, and this will be verified during the ANC check-up. Required documents, including proof of residency, marriage registration certificate, and bank account details, will be maintained by the Medical, Health, and Family Welfare Department and recorded on the PCTS portal. After the institutional delivery, the first installment will be credited to the mother’s account or, in her absence, to the father's account. If both parents are unavailable, the funds will be transferred to the guardian’s account via DBT.
Each girl will receive a unique ID or PCTS ID number at birth. The second installment will be transferred online to the parents' or guardian's account after the child turns one year old and completes all vaccinations. The third through sixth installments will be provided through the school where the girl is enrolled, while the final installment will be released upon graduation, following verification by the Higher Education Department on the portal.
### Lado Incentive Scheme: Changing Perceptions
Often, the birth of a girl child is met with concerns about her upbringing and future expenses. These worries have contributed to a declining child sex ratio. The Lado Incentive Scheme, introduced by Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, aims to alleviate these concerns. The scheme will promote institutional deliveries, reduce maternal and infant mortality rates, and improve the child sex ratio. Additionally, it will increase enrollment and retention of girls in schools, discourage early marriages, and reduce child marriage rates.
### Key Features of the Scheme:
- No restrictions based on caste, religion, class, or income.
- No application process is required.
- The entire payment will be made online through DBT in seven installments.
