Jaisalmer,  Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, stated that every panchayat should have its own building, as it is not merely an administrative facility but a significant step toward rural self-governance. He emphasized that the newly constructed Panchayat Bhavan will serve as a hub for development schemes and enhance administrative efficiency in the region.

During the inauguration ceremony of the Bhadria Gram Panchayat Building, Mr. Shekhawat said that since the establishment of the double-engine government in Rajasthan, the pace of development has accelerated. Once lagging behind in growth, Jaisalmer has now emerged as one of the leading districts in the country — a result of the collective efforts of local representatives and the people.

He also recalled the message delivered by the Prime Minister on Vijayadashami, stating that Ravana Dahan is not merely a festival but an occasion for self-reflection. Inspired by this spirit, the Modi government has implemented numerous schemes aimed at transforming the lives of the poor. Emphasizing the relevance of people’s participation, Mr. Shekhawat highlighted initiatives such as the construction of boundary walls for panchayat buildings, doubling of roads, and the preservation of traditional Oran lands.

The Union Minister also proposed the establishment of a historic library and research center dedicated to knowledge preservation. He mentioned that a national initiative has been undertaken to digitize millions of ancient manuscripts and rare books, making them accessible at national and international levels. This effort, he said, will safeguard India’s heritage and provide the new generation with invaluable knowledge resources — marking a historic step toward strengthening the nation culturally, educationally, and democratically.

On his arrival for the inauguration of the newly built Gram Panchayat Bhavan in Bhadria, the guests were accorded a warm welcome with floral showers. The event was graced by Pokaran MLA Mahant Pratap Puri, former MLAs Sang Singh Bhati and Shaitan Singh Rathore, Bhadria Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Prem Singh Bhati, Sankra Pradhan Bhagwat Singh Tanwar, social worker Dalpat Hingra, Aidan Singh Bhati, District Collector Pratap Singh, CEO Rashmi Rani, Pokaran Municipal Chairman Manish Purohit, and several public representatives and officials.

After the inauguration ceremony, the dignitaries visited Bhadria Rai Mata Ji Temple, participated in the aarti, and interacted warmly with the local residents.
