Udaipur: A wave of joy has swept through the music community of the City of Lakes, as Punjab Governor and former Home Minister of Rajasthan, Gulab Chand Kataria, has written a letter to Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, extending his support for the establishment of a Music Museum in Udaipur.

The letter was sent based on a memorandum submitted by Mukesh Madhwani, founder of Suron Ki Mandali. In his letter, the former MLA of Udaipur, Kataria, highlighted that Udaipur’s cultural and musical heritage is renowned not only in Rajasthan but across India. The creation of a Music Museum, he stated, would help preserve this rich legacy while inspiring local artists and the younger generation.

Kataria emphasized that through this museum, visitors from across the country and abroad would be able to experience Udaipur’s unique cultural identity more closely. The initiative has generated widespread enthusiasm among musicians, organization members, and citizens of the city.

Expressing his gratitude, Mukesh Madhwani said, “We are immensely delighted that our former MLA and present Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has supported our long-standing demand by writing to the Union Minister. His endorsement marks a significant step toward honoring Udaipur’s musical legacy and uplifting the dignity of its artists.”

The Suron Ki Mandali fraternity expressed optimism that following the Governor’s recommendation, the long-cherished dream of establishing a Music Museum in Udaipur will soon become a reality.
