Hanumangarh, Union Minister for Law and Justice, Culture, and Parliamentary Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwal, said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught the world the values of truth, love, and humanity, rejecting the barriers of caste and creed and treating all as equals. Addressing devotees at the Grand Gurmat Samagam and Sikh Historical Exhibition organized by Guru Gobind Singh Charitable Trust at Shri Khushal Das University, Suratgarh Road, he urged people to follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and dedicate themselves to service and upliftment of humanity.

He emphasized that Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s message of “Ik Onkar Satnam”—One God, One Truth—given more than five centuries ago, remains a timeless nectar for society. Through langar, Guru Nanak Dev Ji presented the greatest example of equality and humanity. He believed that earning through honesty and sharing with others is the true form of devotion.

On the third day of the Samagam, thousands of devotees thronged the university premises. Meghwal said that from Guru Nanak Dev Ji to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, all Gurus kept the nation first and united the people and faith through sacrifice. He added that the Khalsa Panth is not just a sect but a divine light emanating from Guru Granth Sahib, spreading the radiance of knowledge and courage across India.

He lauded the Sikh community’s unmatched contribution of sacrifice, bravery, and service to the nation. Praising the organizers, Meghwal said such congregations ensure that future generations remember the legacy of Sikh Gurus and the heritage of Indian spirituality. He congratulated Shri Khushal Das University for hosting the historic event and said that under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is upholding the values of unity, peace, and devotion through initiatives like Veer Bal Diwas, Kartar Singh Corridor, and the Hemkund Sahib Ropeway Project.

Meghwal also mentioned Kolayat Tirth, near Bikaner, where Guru Nanak Dev Ji met Maharshi Kapil. He said that pilgrims visiting the site are blessed with liberation from the cycle of 8.4 million births, and that the Kolayat Mahotsav beautifully showcases unity between Hindu and Sikh devotees.

During the Samagam, Meghwal, along with dignitaries, listened to Gurvani, bowed in reverence, and partook in Langar. Trust President Babu Lal Juneja said that the event was organized to promote prosperity and harmony in the region. He highlighted Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s spiritual message and his fearless stand against tyranny, describing him as a symbol of India’s saint tradition that kept the nation’s soul alive even during foreign invasions.

Former Minister Surendra Pal Singh TT remarked that just as counting stars is impossible, so is measuring the number of lives enlightened by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said such gatherings fulfill their true purpose when Guru Nanak’s message of courage, sacrifice, and humanity reaches every individual.

Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities, said the Sikh community has made unparalleled contributions in trade, education, and social service. He reiterated the government’s commitment to Sikh welfare and development, ensuring better facilities for gurdwaras and pilgrims. He added that Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s divine light illuminated the earth for 240 years and that such events help spread Gurvani to every home.

Haryana Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Dr. Krishan Lal Middha expressed gratitude to SKD University for organizing such a historic congregation and inviting him to be part of it.

Devotional Keertan and Guru Vani Filled the Atmosphere

The sacred verses “Satguru Nanak Pargatya, Miti Dhundh Jag Chanan Hoya” echoed through the university as Raagi Jathas and Kathavachaks narrated Guru history with devotion. The congregation, deeply immersed in faith, listened to their divine renditions.

Renowned Raagi Jathas, including Bhai Sukhwinder Singh Hazooree Raagi Gurdwara Chilla Sahib, Bhai Gurpreet Singh Khalsa, and Bhai Gurpreet Singh Namdev, enthralled the audience with soulful kirtans. The event concluded with the Bhog of Shri Sukhmani Sahib Path, followed by Guru ka Langar, where people from all faiths participated.

Sevadaras and Raagi Jathas were honored with Saropas, and thousands of devotees bowed their heads in reverence during the concluding ceremony of the Grand Gurmat Samagam and Sikh Historical Exhibition.

Inauguration of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Sadan

During his visit, Union Minister Meghwal also inaugurated the newly built Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Sadan at Shri Khushal Das University. Dignitaries including Dr. Krishan Lal Middha, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, RSS Regional Officer Jaswant Khatri, and Former Minister Surendra Pal Singh TT were present.
