“Education Becomes Meaningful Only Through Character, Innovation, and Service” – Prof. Arora“

Udaipur witnessed a magnificent confluence of learning, culture, and values as Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University celebrated its 21st Convocation Ceremony with great grandeur at Maharana Pratap Stadium, Pratapnagar. The event became a vibrant reflection of the true spirit of Indian education — where knowledge transforms into character and learning becomes a lifelong responsibility toward society.


The ceremony commenced with Vedic chanting and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati. The event was graced by Prof. Pankaj Arora, Chairman, NCTE New Delhi, Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot, Prof. Pratapsingh Chauhan, Vice-Chancellor of Bhakt Kavi Narsinh Mehta University, Junagadh, Prof. Kailash Sodani, Advisor to the Governor (Higher Education), and Chancellor Bhawar Lal Gurjar, along with senior academic dignitaries.


In the presence of over 6,000 students, the moment of pride came when Prof. Pankaj Arora was conferred the honorary D.Litt. degree. A total of 120 Ph.D. degrees and 48 gold medals were awarded, among which 80 Ph.D. recipients and 34 medalists were women, highlighting women’s growing leadership in academia and research.

In his inspiring address, Prof. Pankaj Arora urged the youth to become creators of opportunities rather than seekers of jobs.

“India needs young minds who create opportunities, not just chase them. True education lies in building character, fostering innovation, and serving society,” he said.

He emphasized the need to combine technology with compassion —

“Technology becomes truly meaningful only when guided by human values,” he noted.

Calling Vidyapeeth a living example of the National Education Policy 2020, Prof. Arora praised the university’s focus on holistic, flexible, and multidisciplinary education rooted in Indian languages and culture.

“Here, education goes beyond academics — it nurtures responsibility, critical thinking, and the spirit of service,” he said.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot, in his address, reminded the graduating students that convocation is not the end but the beginning of a greater duty.

“A degree is not just a certificate of knowledge — it is a symbol of responsibility toward society. This is the moment when learning transforms into wisdom, and students evolve from disciples to responsible citizens,” he said.

He encouraged graduates to live by the three pillars of life — Truth, Service, and Discipline — and to use knowledge for the betterment of the world.

Delivering his address as the Chancellor of the University, Shri Bhawar Lal Gurjar said —

“The purpose of education is not merely employment but awakening a sense of duty, social responsibility, and self-reliance. Rajasthan Vidyapeeth stands as a symbol of this vision, nurturing not only educated minds but compassionate citizens.”

He congratulated Prof. Pankaj Arora on receiving the D.Litt. honor, calling it a proud moment for the university.

“Vidyapeeth has always believed that true progress lies in the balance between intellect and integrity. I urge all graduates to carry forward the legacy of our cultural values wherever they go,” he added.

Prof. Pratapsingh Chauhan and Prof. Kailash Sodani, as special guests, spoke on skill development, global competency, cyber awareness, and the importance of indigenous thinking in higher education.

The ceremony featured an academic procession and an impressive Guard of Honour by NCC cadets. The event was conducted by Dr. Harish Chaubisa and attended by several dignitaries, including members of Vidya Pracharini Sabha, Bhupal Nobles Institute, deans, directors, and respected citizens of Udaipur.

The 21st Convocation was not merely a formal ceremony of degrees and medals — it was a celebration of the very essence of education that Rajasthan Vidyapeeth has championed for decades —
