Jaipur/Udaipur, Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Rajasthan government has marked two years of governance with major development milestones and transformative initiatives aimed at empowering rural youth, strengthening public welfare, and accelerating state-wide progress. A key announcement includes the establishment of Atal Gyan Kendras at every Gram Panchayat, which is expected to bring a major shift in digital access, education, and career opportunities for rural populations.
Atal Gyan Kendras: Empowering Rural Youth through Knowledge and Digital Inclusion
As part of the government’s vision of “Viksit Rajasthan in a Viksit Bharat”, Atal Gyan Kendras will provide rural youth with facilities such as digital education, competitive exam preparation, e-library services, career counselling, and access to government schemes through e-Mitra and Common Service Centres.
Each centre will be operated by a trained “Atal Prerak”, selected from among local youth, thereby generating employment as well. The centres aim to bridge the digital divide between urban and rural communities, ensuring equal opportunities for learning and skill enhancement.

Digital e-library with online learning materials
Computer and internet access for study and training
Dedicated section for competitive exam preparation
Career counselling and skill development programs
Integrated e-Mitra and CSC services for public welfare schemes
Specially trained Atal Preraks to guide citizens
These centres are expected to become hubs of social change, fostering education, innovation, and youth empowerment.
Phase-I Progress
In the first phase, priority has been given to Panchayats with a population above 3,000.
1,274 centres have already been identified
Financial sanctions have been issued
Subsequent phases will cover all Gram Panchayats across the state
Strong Partnership Under National Gram Swaraj Abhiyan
The initiative has gained further momentum with support from the restructured National Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA).
Rajasthan has received approval for 1,047 Panchayat Learning Centres (PLCs)
More than ₹232 crore has been allocated to strengthen digital infrastructure and training systems
The grant will support upgraded computer labs, e-library software, and online platforms
Chief Minister Sharma expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this partnership, calling it a “milestone that will boost rural self-reliance.”

Water Revolution in the Desert State
