Udaipur: Taking another significant step towards building a drug-free society in Rajasthan, the “Operation Lakshman Rekha” campaign has been launched. Under the special directives of Dinesh M. N. and Vikas Kumar, an awareness and de-addiction program was organized on Sunday at Udaan Nursing Academy in Udaipur.

The primary objective of the program is to develop a 500-meter radius around all educational institutions in the district as “No Drugs Zones” and make them completely drug-free areas. Through this initiative, launched under the name “Operation Lakshman Rekha,” a message was conveyed to protect youth and students from the harmful effects of drug abuse and to spread awareness across society.

During the event, Kanwarpal Singh, along with his staff, was present. Representatives including Narpat Singh Chauhan from Aarogya Seva Sansthan, Isha, and trainer Ram Singh addressed students, volunteers, representatives of de-addiction centers, and NGO members. They elaborated on the social, economic, and family-related damage caused by drug addiction. Speakers emphasized that addiction affects not only individuals but also society and the country’s economy as a whole.

The program, organized by the Anti Narcotics Task Force outpost in Udaipur, was attended by Inspector Kanwarpal Singh, constables Dhanraj, Kuldeep, Ramnivas, and Pradeep Singh, along with a large number of volunteers and representatives of social organizations.

During the event, Inspector Kanwarpal Singh administered an anti-drug pledge to all attendees and urged every section of society to spread awareness against drug abuse. He stated that if any illegal narcotics trade or smuggling activity is noticed anywhere, citizens should immediately inform the district police and the ANTF team and fulfill their duty as responsible citizens.

The ANTF team also shared details of actions taken and narcotics seized across the state and district over the past seven months. This created a sense of enthusiasm among students, trainers, and volunteers present at the event. Everyone collectively resolved to take this campaign to every village and hamlet and work towards making Udaipur district completely drug-free.

At the conclusion of the program, Kanwarpal Singh arranged for the installation of a complaint box at the institution. Additionally, two trainers and three students were appointed as volunteers for the anti-drug campaign to ensure the movement continues actively within society.
