Udaipur: The Himalaya Parivar has announced that sacred soil from Haldighati will be used to apply ceremonial tilak to NRI travelers and participants arriving from across India and abroad for the first Sindhu Kumbh and the 30th Sindhu Darshan Yatra, scheduled to be held in Leh from June 22 to June 27.

Rally coordinator Ambalal Menaria informed that at 6:30 a.m., more than 100 members of the Himalaya Parivar and travelers participating in the Sindhu Darshan Yatra gathered at Vidya Niketan School on 100 Feet Road and proceeded to Haldighati in four-wheel vehicles. The rally was flagged off by Arvind Jaroli, who is also the Rajasthan coordinator for the Sindhu Darshan Yatra.

District President Dinesh Kumar Mali and General Secretary Vijay Jain stated that after reaching Haldighati, traditional rituals and prayers were performed, and 51 kilograms of sacred soil—symbolically associated with the valor and sacrifice of Maharana Pratap and his warriors—was collected in ceremonial urns. Volunteers will prepare small packets of this soil, each bearing stickers of Maharana Pratap, which will be distributed to travelers along with tilak and informative leaflets about the legendary ruler.

Dinesh Mali provided detailed information regarding the 15-day journey and guided travelers about precautions to be taken during the trip, including adapting to the oxygen levels, temperature, and climate conditions of Ladakh to ensure a smooth and comfortable यात्रा.

Speaking on the significance of the nationally important pilgrimage, Arvind Jaroli said that more than 4,000 registrations from across the country have already been received this year, marking a record in the 30-year history of the Sindhu Darshan Yatra. He added that several distinguished personalities from across India, along with ambassadors from 15 countries, are expected to participate in the event.

Jaroli further mentioned that volunteers dressed in traditional Mewari attire—dhoti-kurta and red turbans—will welcome and apply tilak to all participants. He said this initiative would allow hundreds of visitors from different parts of India and abroad to experience the pride, valor, and cultural heritage of Mewar in Ladakh.

Among those present on the occasion were Devendra Chhajed, Yashwant Menaria, Vinod Chaubisa, Ravindra Agrawal, Shobha Lal Menaria, Prakash Menaria, Maniben Patel, Hemlata Jaroli, Shant Menaria, Sharmila Mali, Ganga Devi, Tanuja Agrawal, and Parvati Menaria. The program was conducted by Ashok Saraswat, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Vijay Jain.
