Udaipur: A large-scale tree plantation and environmental awareness program was organized on Friday at Rabindranath Tagore (RNT) Medical College and its affiliated hospital campus on the occasion of World Environment Day.

As a premier medical institution, RNT Medical College linked the initiative directly to public health. Medical experts emphasized that environmental conditions have a profound impact on human health. They noted that rising temperatures, air pollution, and climate change are increasingly contributing to various health problems. Tree plantation was highlighted as one of the most effective, natural, and sustainable solutions for combating respiratory diseases and other health risks associated with environmental degradation.

Through this initiative, the institution not only planted saplings but also appealed to the public to ensure their continuous care and maintenance.

The primary objective of the campaign was to transform the hospital campus into a clean, green, and eco-friendly environment, providing patients, their families, and medical and nursing staff with cleaner air and a healthier, stress-free atmosphere. Officials stressed that protecting nature today is essential to ensuring clean air, pure water, and a healthy future for coming generations.

Principal and Controller Dr. Rahul Jain stated that making the college campus and the city of Udaipur greener and pollution-free is a collective and moral responsibility. He noted that medical science recognizes the positive impact of a clean environment on patient recovery and overall well-being. He added that nature conservation has always been an integral part of India’s rich culture and way of life.

Dr. Jain appealed to citizens, youth, and healthcare professionals across the region to plant more trees at their homes, hospitals, schools, offices, and public places. He emphasized that planting trees is not only a service to the environment but also one of the noblest contributions to protecting human life and health.

During the program, participants collectively spread awareness about environmental conservation, cleanliness, and the protection of natural resources.

The tree plantation drive witnessed active participation from Principal Dr. Rahul Jain along with Additional Principal (First) Dr. Vijay Gupta, Additional Principal (Third) Dr. Kirti, Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital Superintendent Dr. R. L. Suman, Dr. Meghshyam, Dr. Narendra Rathore, Nayan Seth, and all senior and junior officers and staff members of the RNT Principal’s Office. Participants pledged to nurture, water, and protect the saplings planted during the campaign, reinforcing their commitment to environmental sustainability.

The event served as a powerful reminder that environmental conservation and public health are closely interconnected and require collective action from all sections of society.
