Udaipur: Project In-charge Professor Narayan Lal Meena informed that Rajasthan Government Cabinet Minister, Hon’ble Shri Babulal Kharadi, visited the laboratory of the All India Coordinated Mushroom Research Project operating under the Directorate of Research at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, on May 29, 2026.

Considering the nutritional and medicinal value of mushrooms in today’s time, along with their potential as a means of self-employment for youth, an additional source of income from home, and the effective utilization of crop residues, the visit focused on promoting mushroom cultivation in tribal-dominated areas.

During the visit, the Minister expressed happiness after observing the progress and farmer-oriented work being carried out by the mushroom laboratory. He gathered detailed information related to mushroom cultivation and called upon scientists to place greater emphasis on expanding mushroom farming in tribal regions.

During the inspection, the Cabinet Minister was accompanied by his Private Secretary Shri Ramesh Chandra Meena, Director of Research Professor R.L. Soni, Deputy Director of the Horticulture Department Dr. Kailash Chandra Sharma, and the entire staff of the mushroom laboratory.
