Udaipur : A one-day training program for Scheduled Caste farmers was organized on May 29, 2026, at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Chittorgarh. The training program, organized by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra and sponsored by the ICAR–Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad, focused on advanced production technologies for oilseed crops.

A total of 39 farmers and women farmers from villages including Sahnwa, Narela, and other villages of different Panchayat Samitis of the district participated in the program. During the training, battery-operated sprayer machines and pipes were distributed to the participating farmers and women farmers by the ICAR–Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad.

Dr. Ratanlal Solanki, Senior Scientist and Head, provided technical information on increasing farmers’ income through integrated farming systems using oilseed crops. He also explained the importance of integrated nutrient management in oilseed cultivation, essential nutrients required by crops, symptoms of nutrient deficiencies in plants, and measures to overcome these deficiencies.

He informed the participants that adopting advanced production technologies in soybean, groundnut, and other oilseed crops can help achieve better yields and increase farmers’ income. He also shared practical knowledge about the use of organic fertilizers for soil health, different methods of preparing vermicompost, and the preparation of organic liquid fertilizer “Vermiwash.”

Dr. Shankar Lal Jat, Joint Director, Agriculture Department, Chittorgarh, provided detailed information about various government schemes and subsidies offered by the Agriculture Department. He also highlighted the importance of Soil Health Cards, natural farming practices, and ways to increase income through oilseed seed production.

Shri Sanjay Kumar Dhakad, Programme Assistant, conducted a visit of the live demonstration units at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra for the participating farmers and women farmers. He also explained methods for weed management and the control of pests and diseases in oilseed crops.

At the end of the program, Sanjay Kumar Dhakad expressed gratitude to the guests, farmers, and women farmers who attended the training program.
