The National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service
Scheme (NSS), Sir Padampat Singhania University, jointly organized a Teachers’ Day Celebration on 2 September 2026 with a vibrant programme
dedicated to honouring the contribution of teachers and celebrating the
cherished bond between educators and students. The celebration brought together
faculty members and students in an atmosphere of appreciation, enthusiasm and
togetherness.
The programme commenced with a special session on the life and
contributions of Dr. Sarvepalli
Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is observed as Teachers’ Day in
India. This was followed
by a series of engaging activities and performances. Teachers and students participated enthusiastically in musical and
creative performances, including singing and poetry, adding warmth and
liveliness to the celebrations. Fun-filled activities such as the ‘Guess the
Photo’ challenge and the ‘Musical Quiz’ further strengthened the spirit of
camaraderie.
Addressing the gathering, Honourable President Dr. Sanjay Sinha, FRSA, highlighted
the multifaceted role of a teacher as a friend,
philosopher and guide. He emphasised that teachers go beyond imparting
knowledge, playing an important role in mentoring students, shaping their
values and guiding them towards personal and professional growth.
The celebrations also featured an
exciting musical-chair competition. In the women’s category, Dr. Poonam Saini
emerged as the winner, with Ms.
Disha Sharma as the runner-up. In the men’s category, President Dr. Sanjay Sinha
secured the winning position, while Pro
President Prof. Prasun Chakrabarti was the runner-up.
The
ceremony also included prize distribution and gifts for the faculty members as
a token of appreciation. The programme was coordinated by the students under the guidance of Prof.
D.S. Chouhan, Dy. Dean, Student Welfare and Prof. Manish
Dadhich. The celebration concluded on a joyful note, with the university
community expressing gratitude to its teachers for their invaluable role in
nurturing knowledge, values and future aspirations.
