Bhilwara: Sangam University celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour and a dignified spirit across the university campus. The celebrations reflected a strong sense of national pride, unity and commitment among students, faculty and staff.

The programme was attended by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Karunesh Saxena as the Chief Guest and Registrar Dr. Alok Kumar. The dignitaries inspected the impressive Guard of Honour presented by NCC cadets and witnessed the ceremonial flag hoisting. They extended warm Independence Day greetings to the entire university fraternity.

The NCC cadets presented a disciplined and inspiring parade, showcasing their commitment, dedication and patriotic spirit. The synchronised march and ceremonial salute added grandeur to the celebrations and created an atmosphere filled with national pride.

The parade was followed by a vibrant cultural programme presented by university students. Through patriotic performances, songs and cultural presentations, the students beautifully conveyed the messages of love for the nation, national unity and the spirit of Unity in Diversity. Their performances received an enthusiastic response from the audience.

A special award and felicitation ceremony was also organised on the occasion. Vice Chancellor Prof. Karunesh Saxena and Registrar Dr. Alok Kumar honoured faculty members, staff and students who had demonstrated excellence and notable achievements in academics, non-academic activities, sports, NCC, promotions, research and other areas. Certificates and awards were presented to recognise their outstanding contributions.

The felicitation ceremony served as an encouragement for members of the university community who have brought distinction to the institution through their achievements. Contributions in research, innovation, academic excellence, sports and co-curricular activities were particularly appreciated.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Karunesh Saxena highlighted the significance of Independence Day and emphasised that freedom brings with it a responsibility towards the nation and society. He encouraged students to contribute to nation-building through discipline, innovation, academic excellence and social responsibility.
