Sri Ganganagar/Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma participated in a Tiranga Yatra organised in Sadulshahar on Friday. Amid patriotic slogans, the Chief Minister carried the national flag and joined the procession from Ambedkar Circle to Arut Chowk.

Addressing a public gathering before the procession, Chief Minister Sharma said the enthusiasm and spirit displayed by citizens during Tiranga Yatras demonstrate that the national flag holds a special place in the hearts of Indians. He said the Tiranga represents the country’s pride, national consciousness and the legacy of its freedom struggle.

He added that the Tiranga Yatras being organised under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign are strengthening the spirit of patriotism among the younger generation and encouraging a commitment to national service and putting the nation first.

The Chief Minister highlighted Rajasthan’s historic connection with the national flag. He said that the first Tiranga hoisted in independent India was made in Rajasthan. Weavers from Aluda village in Dausa had woven the khadi fabric, which was later dyed and converted into the national flag in Govindgarh.

Sharma said that the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022 during the celebrations of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, has now become a mass movement. He said this year’s campaign is dedicated to commemorating 150 years of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’.

He also noted that August 14 is observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, recalling the tragedy of the Partition of India, which affected millions of people and permanently changed the lives of residents of border regions.

During the public meeting, Chief Minister Sharma announced the establishment of a milk chilling plant at Chunaudh in Sadulshahar. Before participating in the Tiranga Yatra, he also laid the foundation stone for the new building of the Government Sub-District Hospital in Sadulshahar.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, MLA Gurveer Singh, local public representatives and a large number of citizens were present during the Tiranga Yatra.
