Udaipur: The life and reign of Maharana Pratap offer an inspiring example of good governance, financial management, judicious use of available resources, effective human resource mobilisation, urban planning, and management of water and natural resources, said Bharti Raj, Financial Advisor at RSMML Ltd. and a senior officer of the Rajasthan Accounts Service.

She was speaking at the inauguration of the Meljol Mela organised at Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic. Raj said engineering and management students should draw inspiration from Maharana Pratap’s life and leadership.

She said Maharana Pratap was not only a great military leader but also an accomplished organiser who effectively coordinated people, resources and strength under challenging circumstances. She urged young people, particularly Generation Z, to learn values such as patriotism, leadership, self-discipline and social responsibility from his life.

Raj encouraged students to dream with their eyes open and work consistently to transform those dreams into achievements. In an era of increasing digital distractions, she said studying inspiring personalities can help young people develop commitment towards their goals, discipline, sacrifice, honesty and a sense of responsibility.

During the programme, students of Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic and Meera Girls College presented an engaging play based on the ‘Diver Victory’ episode. Through songs, dialogues, acting and dance, the students brought alive the struggles of Maharana Pratap and the historic events associated with the Battle of Diver.

Students who participated in the presentation were felicitated by Bharti Raj, former UCCI president Komal Singh Kothari, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations Gaurikant Sharma, and Principal Dr. Anil Mehta on behalf of Vidya Bhawan.

Presiding over the programme, Komal Singh Kothari welcomed the newly admitted students and introduced them to Vidya Bhawan’s objectives, its 95-year-old academic legacy and its achievements.

Principal Dr. Anil Mehta said Maharana Pratap’s life was marked not only by struggle but also by social engagement and coordination. He said students should complement their technical education by developing the ability to interact with different sections of society and encourage their participation in the country’s technological progress. He added that the Meljol Mela was organised with the same objective.

The programme featured cultural performances of songs and dances under the direction of coordinator Prakash Sundaram. Food, games and entertainment stalls set up by students, parents and teachers also attracted enthusiastic participation from visitors.
