Banswara: Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Jayanti was celebrated with enthusiasm at Government Senior Secondary School, Amarthun. Under the leadership of Principal Arun Vyas, students and teachers took out a Tiranga Yatra through the village carrying the National Flag and spreading the message of patriotism.

Programme In-charge and Chemistry Lecturer Mrs. Rajeshwari highlighted Dr. Sarabhai’s visionary leadership, scientific thinking and contribution to establishing India’s space research programme. She said his efforts gave India global recognition in the field of space science.

Various competitions, including jalebi race, one-leg race, tug-of-war, poster-making, rangoli, mehndi, essay writing and extempore speech, were organized for students.

Scholarship In-charge Jeevan Lal Ninama informed students and parents about various welfare schemes, scholarships, free textbooks, uniforms, bicycles, Gargi Yojana, Aapki Beti Yojana and other educational incentives.

The programme was conducted by Pragya Adhikari and Khushpal Katara, while Dayashankar Charpota proposed the vote of thanks.
