The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the College of Community and Applied Sciences, a constituent college of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), organised a lecture session on the topic “Role of Youth in Nation Building.”
The session was addressed by Shri J. Nandakumar, All India Convenor of Pragya Pravah, who was the chief speaker.
Addressing the students, Nandakumar said that youth are the greatest strength of any nation and its hope for the future. He emphasised that education, skills, discipline, leadership qualities and a strong sense of social responsibility are essential for the progress of the country.
He also urged young people to make honesty, hard work, self-reliance and patriotism an integral part of their lives. Describing self-awareness and awareness of challenges as essential qualities for young people, he said that youth can make significant contributions to education, science, technology, environmental protection and social service by making positive use of their talent and energy.
Nandakumar encouraged the students to move forward with the spirit of “Nation First, Self Later” and become responsible citizens who actively contribute to the development of the country.
At the conclusion of the programme, the participating students took a pledge to play an active role in nation building.
