Udaipur, Leading oncologists from across India will gather in Udaipur from Friday for three days of discussions on rapid advances in cancer treatment, new drugs, precision medicine and emerging technologies aimed at improving patient outcomes. The sixth consecutive edition of Trends of Transformation in Oncology — Oncoconverge 2026 is being led by program director Dr. Manoj Mahajan, director and senior consultant, Department of Medical Oncology, Pacific Medical College and Hospital, Paras Health, Udaipur. The opening ceremony will be attended by PMC chairman Rahul Agrawal, director Preeti Agrawal, CEO Sharad Kothari, executive director Aman Agrawal, president Dr. M.M. Mangal and Dr. Mahajan, along with members of the organizing committee Dr. Vijay Patil, Dr. Akshay Karpe and Dr. Saurabh Sharma. Dr. Mahajan said the conference aims to provide a platform for specialists to exchange knowledge and clinical experience on the latest developments in oncology, emerging treatment strategies and advances in medical technology. The conference will bring together specialists from medical oncology, hematology, neuro-oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology and nuclear medicine, creating a multidisciplinary forum for discussion of complex cancer cases and evolving standards of care. Focus on Geriatric Hematology The opening sessions will focus on geriatric hematology and clinical challenges, with discussions on the diagnosis and treatment of anemia in older patients, osteoporosis and lymphoma management. Experts including Dr. R.K. Sharma, Dr. K. Samar and Dr. Hemant Mahur will share their perspectives. Special attention will be given to the challenges of treating elderly cancer patients and the need for individualized treatment strategies. Dr. Vijay Patil said Dr. Mahajan will also participate in a session on lymphoma management, adding to the conference's focus on contemporary approaches to hematological malignancies. Hematology Emergencies and Supportive Care Sessions on hematology emergencies and supportive care will examine the management of febrile neutropenia, thrombocytopenia and bleeding disorders. Dr. R.L. Meena, Dr. Girish Chandavarma, Dr. R.K. Tripathi and Dr. Rajkumar Yadav, among other specialists, will discuss clinical approaches and practical treatment experiences. The role of platelet transfusion and supportive care in multiple myeloma will also be examined. New Treatment Options in Multiple Myeloma Another key area of discussion will be the rapidly evolving treatment landscape for multiple myeloma. Experts will discuss next-generation therapies, including teclistamab and BCMA-directed approaches, as well as emerging options such as talquetamab and contemporary treatment strategies for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. Dr. Hemant Malhotra, Dr. Prakash Shekhawat and other specialists will contribute to these sessions. Precision Medicine in Neuro-Oncology The conference will conclude with dedicated sessions on neuro-oncology, covering precision medicine approaches in midline glioma and the INDIGO trial, among other emerging areas. The sessions will feature Dr. Manoj Mahajan, Dr. Manish Kulshrestha, Dr. Bhupendra Chaudhary, Dr. Ajay Singh, Dr. Amitendu Shekhar and Dr. Uday Bhowmik. Dr. Mahajan said the objective of Oncoconverge 2026 goes beyond sharing information about new technologies. “The goal is to create meaningful dialogue among specialists so that the adoption of precise, effective and modern treatment approaches can ultimately strengthen cancer care for patients,” he said.
