Udaipur: Dr. Satish Chaudhary, wrestling coach and physical education teacher at Shala Krida Sangam Fateh School, Udaipur, has been appointed as a referee for the Senior World Kazak Kurash Wrestling Championship, organized by United World Wrestling.

The championship will be held from August 21 to 25 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Kazak Kurash is a combat sport that combines elements of wrestling and judo.

Rajasthan Kazak Kurash Association General Secretary Shakeel Hussain said Dr. Chaudhary is the only referee from Rajasthan selected to officiate at this international championship.

Dr. Chaudhary said he will leave Udaipur by air on August 20 for New Delhi and will travel to Azerbaijan with the Indian contingent on August 21. The Indian Kazak Kurash Association is sending a 24-member team to the international senior open championship. The contingent includes eight male athletes, eight female athletes, three referees, including Dr. Chaudhary, and a team manager.

District Media In-charge of the Rajasthan Physical Education Teachers Association Gopal Mehta Menaria said physical education teachers, the Rajasthan Physical Education Teachers Association, Udaipur Wrestling Association and sports enthusiasts from across the district congratulated Dr. Chaudhary on the achievement.
