Vedpeeth’s Phagotsav in Kalyannagari Creates New History

Nimbahera: The renowned Shri Sheshavatar Kallaji Vedpeeth of Mewar scripted a new chapter in Kalyannagari with its grand Phagotsav celebration, organized as per tradition on the second day after Holika Dahan, on Phalgun Shukla Purnima.

Held in the temple premises, the vibrant celebration recreated the spirit of Braj’s Holi, as thousands of devotees were immersed in multicolored abeer, gulal, and Holi played with 51 varieties of flowers. The atmosphere was so divine that it felt as if devotees and the deity had become one.

On this occasion, Thakur Ji was offered a grand devotional tribute similar to the traditional Chhappan Bhog, with a variety of abeer, gulal, flowers, and fragrant attars ceremoniously presented. The devotional fervor intensified when noted bhajan singers led the traditional Phalguni Rasiya renditions. Renowned singer Deep Dadhich from Bhilwara, along with Akhilesh Thakur and Hanuman Prasad Sharma from Kalyannagari and their team, captivated the gathering with soulful renditions, inviting devotees to “come to Kallaji Vedpeeth and celebrate Holi.”

As thousands of devotees joyfully showered their revered Thakur Ji with natural colors made from Palash flowers along with gulal and abeer, a mesmerizing sight unfolded when flowers and colors were showered back upon the devotees from the temple. The singers further energized the gathering with spirited Holi songs, compelling devotees to dance in divine ecstasy.

For nearly three hours, the Phagotsav echoed with devotion, joy, and celebration. Every devotee felt blessed, immersed completely in the colors of faith and devotion.

After the grand celebration, prasad was distributed to all attendees. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Vedpeeth’s acharyas, batuks, office bearers, Veer-Veeranganas, members of Krishna Shakti Dal, Shakti Dal girls, residents of Kalyannagari, nearby villagers, and thousands of devotees—breaking previous years’ records and setting a new milestone in the history of the Phagotsav celebration.
