Successful Conduct of AICTE–ATAL Sponsored Six-Day Faculty Development Programme at GITS

Udaipur:A six-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “AI-Powered Imagination: Exploring Boundaries of Generative Models” was successfully organised at Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies (GITS), Udaipur, under the sponsorship of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) – ATAL Academy.

The programme witnessed active participation from renowned academicians and experienced industry experts from India and abroad, who shared their expertise and insights with the participants.

Institute Director Dr. S. M. Prasanna Kumar stated that such programmes on emerging technologies like Generative AI not only empower faculty members technologically but also provide new directions in teaching, research, and innovation. The FDP commenced with foundational concepts such as Autoencoders, Diffusion Models, and GAN Architectures. Sessions were also conducted on CNN-based Generative AI for Intelligent Vision Models, hands-on implementation using the CIFAR dataset, and nature-inspired optimisation techniques including Spider Monkey Optimization and Artificial Algorithms.

The programme featured eminent speakers, including Dr. Heena Rathod from Texas State University (USA), Mr. Rahul Agrawal (USA), Dr. Harish Sharma from Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, Prof. Dr. Alok Singh Gehlot from MBM University, Jodhpur, Dr. Shaleen Bhatnagar from Manipal University, Bengaluru, Dr. Amrit Rao Purohit from REVA University, Bengaluru, Dr. Sarika Khandelwal from G. H. Raisoni College, Nagpur, Mr. Girish Ameta from Kadel Labs, Ms. Akanksha Jain from O9 Solutions, and Ms. Sonia Keswani representing Sierra-Cedar and Secure Meters Pvt. Ltd.

According to FDP Coordinator Dr. Mayank Patel, the programme provided valuable insights into Agentic AI and Autonomous Digital Workers, applications of Generative AI in Healthcare, Risk and Demand Forecasting in Supply Chains, integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) with cloud-based enterprise systems, and discussions on the framework of the National Education Policy (NEP).

A total of 240 faculty members from 50 cities across the country participated in the FDP. The programme was co-ordinated by Dr. Ruchi Vyas.

On this occasion, Finance Controller B. L. Jagind remarked that the successful organisation of the FDP reflects the institute’s visionary approach and strong academic planning. He appreciated the institution for conducting a high-quality national-level programme despite limited resources, noting that such initiatives significantly enhance faculty skill development as well as the institute’s academic reputation.
