Mumbai: The auspicious festival of Chaitra Navratri, dedicated to Goddess Durga, symbolizes devotion, self-reflection, and new beginnings. During these nine sacred days, devotees observe fasts, offer prayers, and follow traditional rituals. Despite their hectic shooting schedules, artists from &TV shared how they stay connected to their faith and traditions during this special time.
Among them are Rohitashv Gour, who plays Manmohan Tiwari in the popular show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, and Seerat Kapoor, who portrays Savi in Gharwali Pedwali.
Speaking about her Navratri routine, Seerat Kapoor said, “Navratri is very special to me as it represents devotion and inner strength. Despite long shooting hours, I have decided to observe fasts on some days this year. With a bit of planning, it becomes manageable. I start my day with prayers to Goddess Durga and then head to the set. Throughout the day, I consume light fasting foods like fruits, yogurt, makhana, and sabudana khichdi to maintain energy. Sometimes, I also carry sweet potato chaat or kuttu cheela from home. Sharing food with co-actors during breaks makes the experience even more special. Even in a busy schedule, Navratri brings me peace and positivity.”
Rohitashv Gour shared, “Chaitra Navratri has always been a deeply spiritual time for my family. I try to observe fasts every year, and this year too, despite a busy schedule, I am fasting. The team on set is very supportive, which allows me to take out some time for पूजा. I begin my day with simple prayers and stick to light, satvik food during the fast. On set, I carry sabudana khichdi, fruits, makhana, and sometimes vrat-friendly potatoes with yogurt. My wife also prepares singhada flour rotis or kuttu pakoras, which I enjoy during breaks. During these nine days, I feel a unique sense of peace and positivity even while working. Navratri reminds me to stay disciplined, grateful, and spiritually connected.”
