Mumbai: Sony SAB is set to bring an emotionally powerful story to viewers with its upcoming show Hui Gum Yaadein – Ek Doctor, Do Zindagiyan. The show is an adaptation of a popular Italian drama DOC and explores themes of memories, identity, and second chances.
The story revolves around Dr. Dev, played by Iqbal Khan, a renowned doctor whose life takes an unexpected turn after a tragic accident causes him to lose his memory. When he returns to a world that has moved on without him, he must navigate unfamiliar relationships, professional expectations, and a past he can no longer remember. As the story unfolds, Dr. Dev gradually rediscovers what it truly means to be a doctor and a human being.
Actor Gulki Joshi plays a significant role in the show as Srishti, Dr. Dev’s ex-wife. Her character adds emotional depth to the narrative and brings a new perspective to the evolving relationships both inside and outside the hospital.
For Gulki Joshi, sharing the screen with Iqbal Khan is not just part of the script—it is also a deeply personal and emotional experience. Long before she entered the acting world, Iqbal’s name was already familiar in her home. Her mother had been one of the writers on Iqbal’s first television show, and Gulki grew up hearing stories about that time.
She also recalls how, during her school days, many of her friends were huge fans of Iqbal’s character, often discussing episodes and admiring his performance, while she quietly observed the phenomenon from close quarters. Years later, standing opposite him as a co-actor feels less like a coincidence and more like a full-circle moment.
Sharing her thoughts, Gulki Joshi said,
“Sometimes the industry feels very big, and sometimes very small. For me, working with Iqbal is one of those rare full-circle moments. There’s a special sense of nostalgia because I grew up hearing stories about that phase at home. Standing opposite him today as a co-actor feels truly unique. What I admire most is his presence in scenes—he’s very natural and instinctive, which makes emotional scenes feel honest and effortless. There’s mutual respect in the way we work, and I believe that reflects on screen as well. Experiences like this remind you how life connects things in unexpected ways at the right time.”
