Udaipur: As part of the ongoing 50-day Yoga Countdown Program leading up to International Yoga Day 2026, a grand mass rehearsal of the Common Yoga Protocol was organized on Sunday morning at Fateh Sagar Lake. The event, jointly organized by the district administration and the AYUSH Department, witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 300 yoga practitioners, students, women, senior citizens, representatives of social organizations, and members of the public.
Among the distinguished participants was Prof. Kailash Daga, who emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life. He stated that regular yoga practice helps individuals remain healthy, energetic, and mentally positive.
Bhanu Kumar Jain informed attendees that various activities are being conducted across the district under the 50-day Yoga Countdown Program to promote awareness about yoga and encourage people to adopt it as part of their daily routine. He also appealed to citizens to participate in large numbers in the main International Yoga Day event on June 21.
Yoga Coordinator and Assistant Nodal Officer Dr. Shobhalal Audichya highlighted this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” and noted that regular yoga practice significantly improves physical and mental well-being while promoting a healthier lifestyle.
During the session, participants practiced various yoga postures, pranayama techniques, meditation, and yoga nidra according to the Common Yoga Protocol. Yoga instructors also provided guidance on the correct methods, precautions, and health benefits associated with different yogic practices.
A minute-by-minute rehearsal of the Yoga Protocol was conducted with support from Pacific University faculty members Dr. Shubha Surana, Rimjhim Sharma, Shweta Sharma, and Pooja Sharma.
Adding a unique environmental dimension to the event, social worker Krishna Gopal Gurjar distributed more than 300 bird nests to participants, promoting bird conservation and environmental awareness. Nature lovers and yoga enthusiasts, including Amit Sharma and Sapna Audichya, appreciated the initiative.
The event saw participation from several prominent personalities, including Gopal Prajapat, K.K. Sharma, Dr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Dr. N.C. Jain, Dr. Iqbal Gauri, Dr. Sanjay Maheshwari, Dr. Vishnu Bansiwal, Magan Joshi, Mohanlal Paliwal, and Mohan Wagrewal.
The program received active support from several organizations, including Yoga and Naturopathy College Udaipur, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Kreeda Bharati, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, International Human Rights Protection Organization, Swasthya Setu, Vishwa Foundation, Sukripa Foundation, Pranav Ayurveda Yoga Center, Oswal Sabha, Oswal Yuvak Parishad, Arogya Vihar Dham, and the Morning Yoga University Club.
Yoga trainers including Yogi Suresh Paliwal, Dr. Vikram Kharadi, Yogi Ashok Jain, Mukesh Pathak, Rohit Chobisa, Hemant Kumawat, Anurag Kumawat, Shyam Chobisa, and Poonam Kumawat played a vital role in ensuring the success of the event.
Dr. Shobhalal Audichya announced that the next collective Yoga Protocol rehearsal under the countdown series will be held on June 15 at 6:15 a.m. at the Sukhadia Samadhi Complex, and invited citizens to participate in large numbers.
The event concluded with participants pledging to make the International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21 a grand success and to encourage more people to embrace yoga for a healthier and more balanced life.
