Chanderia Lead Zinc Smelter Organises Farmers’ Day

Chittorgarh:On the occasion of Farmers’ Day, a special programme was organised by Jai Chittorgarh Farmers Producer Company along with farmers from the surrounding areas of the Chanderia Lead Zinc Smelter. The event was held under the Samadhan Project, which is being implemented by Hindustan Zinc in collaboration with BAIF. This marked the third consecutive year of organising the Farmers’ Day programme.

More than 100 farmers from nearby villages participated in the event. Officials present on the occasion included Assistant Joint Director from the Animal Husbandry Department Dr. Sumer Singh, Agriculture Officer Gopal Dhakad, and members of the CSR team of the Chanderia Smelting Complex.

Dr. Sumer Singh provided detailed information about key schemes of the Animal Husbandry Department, with special focus on the currently operational Pashu Mangala Scheme. He also highlighted the importance of celebrating Farmers’ Day. Agriculture Officer Gopal Dhakad informed farmers about major agricultural schemes such as sprinkler irrigation, fencing, and solar schemes, and also shared measures to address the current shortage of urea in wheat crops.

The BAIF representative spoke about the significance of Farmers’ Day, which is observed annually in memory of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. It was shared that more than 2,000 shareholders have joined the Jai Chittorgarh Farmers Producer Company so far, with plans to further increase this number in the coming years.

At the conclusion of the programme, progressive farmers were honoured with awards and agricultural equipment.
