Udaipur: On the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Late Bhanu Kumar Shastri, former President of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and former Member of Parliament, and Late Kiran Maheshwari, former Minister and popular MP, a floral tribute and seminar were organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) City District Udaipur at the party office, Patel Circle.
According to BJP City District Media In-charge Dr. Seema Champawat, the program began with floral tributes and lamp lighting before the portraits of the revered leaders. The event, presided over by BJP City District President Gajpal Singh Rathore, also commemorated the death anniversary of former Deputy Mayor Virendra Bapna. The ceremony commenced at 9:30 a.m. at the party office.
The seminar witnessed the participation of MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, District Vice Presidents Digvijay Shrimali, Takhat Singh Shaktawat, Jagdish Sharma, Karan Singh Shaktawat, Padam Sharma (brother of Bhanu Kumar Shastri), Satyanarayan Maheshwari (husband of Late Kiran Maheshwari), former Deputy Mayor Mahendra Singh Shekhawat, former Councillor Archana Sharma, and Jatin Sharma, among others, who shared their thoughts and memories.
Senior BJP leader and State Convener of the Cooperative Cell Promod Samar said that Bhanu Kumar Shastri was among the last generation of Bharatiya Jana Sangh members. He was senior even to leaders like Lal Krishna Advani and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and played a vital role in strengthening the organization. He had contested elections against the then Chief Minister Mohanlal Sukhadia in 1962 and 1967 and was known for his clean, principled political life.
District President Gajpal Singh Rathore recalled that Late Kiran Maheshwari began her political career as a councillor and, through her dedication and competence, rose to become Chairperson of the Municipal Council, Member of Parliament, National President of BJP Mahila Morcha, National General Secretary and Vice President of the party, as well as MLA and Minister. He said her absence is deeply felt, and her contributions to development and public service will always be remembered.
MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat emphasized that on the 100th birth anniversary of Bhanu Kumar Shastri and the birth anniversary of Late Kiran Maheshwari, party members should draw inspiration from their lives dedicated to nation-building, organizational development, and public service.
The event was attended by several senior leaders, including District General Secretary Devilal Salvi, District Ministers Siddharth Sharma, Tushar Mehta, Khushboo Malviya, former District Minister Deepak Bolia, Mandal Presidents Ruchika Choudhary, Kanhaiya Vaishnav, Vijay Ahuja, Amrit Menaria, Mahesh Goswami, Mukesh Joshi, District Spokespersons Govind Dixit, Ashok Nagda, Om Parikh, and many party officials and workers.
The program was conducted by former Deputy Mayor and District General Secretary Paras Singhvi, while Dr. Pankaj Borana extended the vote of thanks.
Speakers paid heartfelt tributes to Late Bhanu Kumar Shastri and Late Kiran Maheshwari, remembering their ideological commitment, contribution to nation and organization building, and dedication to public welfare, and pledged to follow in their inspiring footsteps.
