#### Prof. Hemendra Chandalia’s English Poem Honoured in Nigeria

Udaipur:Prof. Hemendra Chandalia, retired Dean of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth’s Shramjeevi College and a senior journalist, has earned international recognition for his English poem “Achebe – The Soul of Africa.” The work has been awarded by the Society of Young Nigerian Writers, a reputed literary organization in Nigeria.

In memory of the celebrated Nigerian author Chinua Achebe, the Society invited poems, essays, and stories from across the globe. On 14 November 2025, the Chinua Achebe Literary Festival and Memorial Lecture was organized, during which the 10th Chinua Achebe Poetry & Essay Anthology, “Achebe – Arrows of Wisdom,” was released in Achebe’s hometown, Anambra, Nigeria.

Prof. Chandalia’s poem was selected in the Outstanding Category for this prestigious anthology and he was honoured with a Special Certificate of Recognition by the organizers.

It is noteworthy that Prof. Chandalia has authored 24 books, including four Hindi poetry collections and one English poetry collection, making his contribution to literature both deep and diverse.
