Block President Naushad Diwan said that minority office-bearers and workers from across the district gathered at the Collectorate, raised slogans in protest, and submitted the memorandum demanding action on both issues.
According to the memorandum, the social media posts allegedly contained offensive language against Prophet Muhammad, which, the protesters claimed, deeply hurt the religious sentiments of the Muslim community. They alleged that the remarks had the potential to disturb communal harmony and demanded immediate legal action against the accused. They also called for the removal of the objectionable posts and videos from all social media platforms and urged authorities to prevent the circulation of such content.
The memorandum also expressed concern over the reported demolition of certain mosques, madrasas, and dargahs in the border districts of Barmer and Bikaner. The protesters urged the government to halt such actions.
Among those present were State Secretary Firoz Khan Abbasi, State Coordinator Mustafa Raza, District General Secretary Nadir Hussain, District Organisation General Secretary Subhan Ali, District Vice President Waqar Shaikh, District General Secretary Iqbal Khan, Hafiz Shah, Minority Committee members Javed Khan, Saif Ali, Umar Ashrafi (Advocate), Muskan Khan, Shamim Bano, Naushad Sheikh, Abdul Mannan Qureshi, Mohammad Nadir Bhai, Syed Shoaib, Sahil Khan, and a large number of community members.
