Flower Show at Fatehsagar Set to Begin from 24th December

Udaipur: Preparations have begun at the administrative level for the annual Flower Show to be held on the iconic Fatehsagar Lake’s embankment. A meeting was held on Monday at the Collectorate residence under the chairmanship of District Collector Namit Mehta to discuss the arrangements.

During the meeting, the Collector emphasized that the Flower Show should provide a memorable experience for both tourists and residents, in line with Udaipur’s reputation as the “City of Lakes.” He instructed that the show should feature a variety of flowers in adequate numbers and that arrangements should be made for their proper maintenance and display. Support through CSR initiatives could also be sought, and prominent local hotel groups may be involved to ensure the event’s success.

Collector Mehta suggested that, keeping in mind the upcoming winter holidays and tourist season, the show should run from 24th December to 4th January, highlighting long-lifespan plants with adequate security measures in place. The meeting was attended by UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Khanna, and representatives from various departments and institutions.

Weekly Departmental Review:
Collector Mehta also conducted a weekly review meeting at his residence, assessing progress in drinking water, medical, and electricity departments. He directed officials to report on initiatives for preventing seasonal diseases and the progress of various budgetary projects. Among the attendees were Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Ashok Aditya, Superintending Engineer R. Meena from the Electricity Department, and Executive Engineer Lalit Kumar Nagori from PHED, who updated the Collector on departmental work and received necessary instructions.
