Udaipur, The Department of Medicine at Pacific Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) organized Pacific Diabecon 2025, inaugurated by Dr. M.M. Mangal, PMU; Dr. U.S. Parihar, Dean, PMCH; Dr. Sunita Maheshwari, Medical Superintendent, PMCH; Endocrinologist Dr. S.K. Sharma; Physician Dr. D.C. Kumawat; Pediatrician Dr. Devendra Sareen; Head of Medicine Department Dr. Girish Verma; and Organizing Secretary and Endocrinologist Dr. R.K. Sharma by lighting the lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati.
PMCH Chairman Rahul Agrawal extended best wishes for the success of the conference, stating that this event marks a significant step forward in the field of diabetes awareness and treatment. He added that such platforms not only promote knowledge exchange among medical professionals but also keep them informed about the latest research and treatment methods, which ultimately benefit patients.
Organizing Secretary Dr. R.K. Sharma informed that renowned endocrinologists and senior physicians from Southern Rajasthan participated in the conference to discuss various aspects of diabetes prevention, treatment, and management. He highlighted that Pacific Diabecon 2025 aims to spread awareness about diabetes and related disorders, introduce new medical approaches and therapies, and facilitate sharing of expert insights and research.
During a special session on Gestational Diabetes – Impact on Mother and Child, Dr. S.K. Sharma from Jaipur emphasized the importance of managing diabetes during pregnancy and labor, as it significantly affects both maternal health and fetal development. He stressed the need for continuous monitoring of blood sugar levels in pregnant women and recommended maintaining glucose balance through proper diet, regular physical activity, and suitable medication.
