Grand inauguration of the two-day international conference

Udaipur: “Youth should focus on inclusive, participatory, and evidence-based research for the welfare of humanity. Their energy should be directed toward health, mental well-being, education, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), not just job hunting,” said Prof. B.L. Chaudhary, former Vice-Chancellor of MLSU Udaipur, during the inaugural session of the two-day international conference.

The conference, organized by the Department of Botany under the Faculty of Science at Bhopal Nobels University, was held under the theme “Plant SUSTAIN 2026: Integrating Plant Biotechnology, Agricultural Innovations, Pharmaceutical Research, and Green Chemistry.” Prof. Renu Rathore (Chairperson) and Prof. Ritu Tomar (Co-Chair) welcomed all the distinguished guests. Dr. Sunita Jain, Head of the Department of Botany and Conference Secretary, presented the outline of the two-day event, detailing the various technical sessions. The conference was conducted in a hybrid mode and had received 110 registrations so far. A souvenir was also released during the inaugural ceremony.

Prof. Kanika Sharma, former Dean of University College of Science, MLSU, highlighted the critical importance of biological resources. She stated that these resources, which provide real or potential value to humanity, are essential for food, pharmaceuticals, and industrial applications, as well as for supporting the bioeconomy, biodiversity, and sustainable development.

Dr. Mahendra Singh Rathore, Minister of the V.P. Sabha, emphasized the necessity of meaningful application of knowledge for innovation, research, and the welfare of humanity. Prof. G.S. Shekhawat from Jai Narayan Vyas University, Jodhpur, and Prof. Chetan Singh Chauhan, President of Bhopal Nobels University, shared their insights on the conference theme. Finance Minister Shakti Singh Karohi presented mementos to the guests.

Messages from Hon. Chairperson Prof. Colonel Shivsinh Sarangdevot, Managing Director Mohabbat Singh Rathore, and Dr. Niranjan Narayan Singh Rathore, Registrar of Bhopal Nobels University, highlighted the importance of maintaining high-quality research. They noted that good research expands knowledge, provides practical solutions to complex problems, fosters technological development, aids societal progress, enables precise decision-making, reduces bias, and enhances intellectual capacity.

The event was attended by faculty members including Prof. Mohan Singh Rathore, Prof. Prem Singh Rawalot, Dr. Girdhar Pal Singh (Co-Chair, Student Welfare), and other departmental staff, making it a significant platform for knowledge exchange and academic collaboration.

This conference brought together experts to deliberate on integrating plant biotechnology, agricultural innovation, pharmaceutical research, and green chemistry, emphasizing the strategic use of energy and resources for sustainable development and societal well-being.
