Devotees Throng Shri Kapil Kedareswar Mahadev Temple for Shiv Mahapuran Katha

Banswara: A large number of devotees gathered at Shri Kapil Kedareswar Mahadev Temple in Singhwaw, Banswara, where a week-long Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha is being organized with the support of the entire community. On the fifth day, Monday night, the narration of Lord Ganesha’s birth and wedding ceremony, along with captivating tableaux, drew an overwhelming crowd.

During the discourse from the Vyas Peeth, Kathavachak Saint Shri Premsagar Ji Maharaj (Mandsaur) narrated various episodes from the Shiv Purana, explaining its deeper meanings and highlighting the glory of devotion to Lord Shiva.

The event, held under the guidance of Teju Maharaj (Ratlam), a coordinator of the Dharma Jagran Yatra and a recipient of honors for religious service, featured beautiful depictions of Ganesh Janmotsav, Ganesh Vivah, and the divine forms of Riddhi and Siddhi. Devotional hymns praising Lord Ganesha and references to his greatness were also presented.

Devotees joyfully swayed to melodious bhajans and kirtans during the katha. Musical accompaniment was provided by artist Kailashchandra Goyal. A large number of devotees participated in the Maha Aarti, offering prayers to Lord Ganesha, his family, and the Shiv Mahapuran.

Katha to Conclude on Wednesday Night

Earlier, rituals were performed with proper rituals  for Kapil Ganesh, Kedareswar Mahadev, and other installed deities. On the final day, Wednesday, May 6, the katha will begin at 7 PM and conclude with the ceremonial completion (Purnahuti) at 10 PM.
