Grand Events of National UG Conference at Geetanjali Dental

Udaipur: The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology at Geetanjali Dental and Research Institute, in association with Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology (IAOMR), organized the National UG Conference 2026 on the theme “Oral Medicine and Radiology: From Basics to Brilliance” on Friday, May 15.

The conference was inaugurated in the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Vyas, Vice Chancellor of Geetanjali University. Around 575 undergraduate BDS students from various dental colleges across the country participated in the national conference.

Addressing the students, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Vyas stated that Oral Medicine and Radiology form the foundation of dental sciences and play a vital role in the early diagnosis and effective treatment of diseases. He encouraged students to enhance their knowledge by engaging with modern technologies and research activities.

Chairperson Mr. J.P. Agrawal and Executive Director Mr. Ankit Agrawal of Geetanjali University expressed happiness over the successful आयोजन of the conference. They said that such national academic events inspire students towards innovation, research, and new learning opportunities while strengthening the institution’s academic excellence.

Principal of Geetanjali Dental and Research Institute, Dr. Balaji Manohar, said that such national conferences provide students with practical exposure along with academic knowledge and opportunities to directly interact with experts. He added that the field of Oral Medicine and Radiology is rapidly evolving in modern dentistry, and students must continuously stay connected with emerging technologies and research advancements.

The conference featured lectures by renowned experts from across the country, including Dr. Ajay Parihar from Indore, Dr. Mohit Pal Singh from Udaipur, and Dr. Harneet Singh from Rohtak.

Various academic activities were also organized during the conference, including paper presentations, poster presentations, Grey Cells Quiz Competition, photography, drawing, and caption competitions. From Geetanjali Dental and Research Institute, Rukaiya Bohra secured second prize in the Snap Ray Photography Competition. In the Grey Cells Quiz Competition, the team comprising Arshiya Rashid, Dharmanshu Satyavana, Suryaveer Singh Panwar, and Saloni Gupta won first place.

In the Paper Presentation Competition, Alifiyan Hussain and Chitra Ranawat secured first prize, while Tishita Thomas, Mariyam Bankawala, and Mahek Khandelwal were awarded second prize. In the Poster Presentation Competition, Deep Bhargav, Varsha Solanki, Hitanshi Dua, Preksha Jain, Prasuk Jain, and Samyak Jain won first prize, whereas Anisha Khemka, Japneet Kaur Bagga, Mohammad Farid Agwan, Muskan Ahmed, Pratibha Sharma, and Swati Gupta received second prize.

Special thanks were extended to all mentors and faculty members for their contribution to the successful organization of the conference and the outstanding performance of the students.

Dr. Simi Thankappan served as Co-Organizing Chairperson, Dr. Bhuvaneshwari Balaji as Organizing Secretary, and Dr. Hemant Mathur as Treasurer, playing significant roles in the successful conduct of the conference. Faculty members and organizing committee members actively participated throughout the event.
